Dr Wilson’s Stained Glass Window
During my tour of UK schools in 2017 I was lucky enough to visit Copthorne Prepatory School in Sussex. The school has a special connection with the Terra Nova expedition through Dr Wilson. As it turns out Dr Wilson’s brother-in-law was the Headmaster of the school and made a room at the school available for Dr Wilson as a laboratory/office. Consequently Dr Wilson spent much time at the school between taking part in the Discovery expedition (1902-1904) and the Terra Nova expedition (1910-1912). When Dr Wilson failed to return from the South Pole, the school created a stain glass window in his honour in the school’s chapel.
